Scouting in Saffron WaldenWithin the local district of Saffron Walden there are the full range of co-educational Scout Groups offering: Beaver Scout Colony for 6 to 8 years, Cub Scout Packs 8 to 10 years, Scout Troops 10 to 14 years, Explorer Scout Units 14 to 18 years and Scout Network 18 to 25. There are two Scout Groups in the town itself - 1st Saffron Walden, meeting in the District Scout Headquarters (old YMCA Hall) in the High Street, and 5th Saffron Walden (Free Church), meeting variously in the Baptist Church Hall, United Reform Church and Scout Headquarters. We also have Scout Groups in the outlying towns and villages of Newport, Thaxted, Clavering and Radwinter (but note that Clavering does not take Beaver Scouts and Radwinter is for Cub Scouts only).
